Chapter 4

Elena's Pov:

Marco’s name tasted bitter on my tongue. “We were together for a year,” I began, studying my hands to avoid Luca’s penetrating gaze. “He had this way of always touching me, being overly possessive. I mistook it for love, for devotion.” A hollow laugh escaped me. “Until I found him in bed with my best friend.”

Luca’s jaw clenched, a muscle ticking beneath his skin. His fingers tightened around mine until they were almost painful. “What did you do?” The question rumbled from deep in his chest.

“Something incredibly mature,” I said, sarcasm dripping from my words. “I took a sledgehammer to his precious car collection. Turned his garage into an abstract art installation.”

A dark smile played at the corners of Luca’s mouth. “Resourceful,” he murmured, his thumb tracing circles on my palm. “But you won’t need such measures with me. I don’t share what’s mine.”

“Oh please,” I scoffed, meeting his gaze with defiance. “Give it a try.”

His eyes darkened dangerously, and he leaned closer, his presence overwhelming my senses. The challenge in my voice seemed to awaken something primal in him. “Careful, Elena,” he warned, his voice like velvet over steel.

My heart hammered against my ribs. “Luca,” I whispered, gathering my courage. “There’s something else you should know.” I took a shaky breath. “I’m... I’m a virgin.”

His expression shifted minutely, surprise flickering across his features before being replaced by something more possessive, more intense. “I see,” he said softly, his hand moving to cup my face.

Without warning, he pulled me closer, his lips claiming mine with devastating precision. This wasn’t just a kiss—it was a declaration of ownership. His hands held me in place, one tangled in my hair, the other pressing against my lower back. The kiss deepened, and I felt myself drowning in the sensation, in the overwhelming force of his dominance.

When he finally pulled back, his eyes were nearly black with desire. “Mine,” he growled, the word branding itself into my soul.

The world around us faded into insignificance. His presence consumed everything, leaving me breathless and trembling. The morning light painted shadows across his face, highlighting the sharp angles of his features and the intensity in his gaze.

Morning light painted shadows across the opulent room as Luca outlined the dangers ahead. His world was full of people who would try to use me against him. Every word carried the weight of absolute authority, leaving no room for doubt or discussion.

We moved through the mansion’s grand halls, his hand a constant presence on my back. Crystal chandeliers and priceless artwork surrounded us, each room a testament to wealth and power. But it was Luca’s silent dominance that truly commanded attention.

The meeting room fell to immediate silence as we entered. My emerald green dress whispered against marble floors as Luca guided me to the head of a massive oak table. Dozens of calculating gazes assessed us, measuring this new development in their world of power plays and alliances.

His introduction of me as his wife sent ripples through the assembled crowd. Though they nodded respectfully, questions burned in their eyes. Throughout the hours of complex business discussions, Luca’s hand remained on mine – a gesture that was equal parts possession and protection.

My years of business education proved invaluable as I followed the intricate negotiations. Each exchange revealed another layer of Luca’s empire, showing me exactly what I’d married into. When he spoke, his words carried absolute authority. No one dared challenge him.

As the room emptied, I felt the weight of the day settling over me. My new reality stretched out before us – a life of power, danger, and calculated moves. Yet Luca’s presence beside me offered its own kind of certainty. My business degrees and years of study hadn’t been wasted; they’d been preparing me for this role all along.

Against all logic, I found myself drawing strength from his unwavering control. In this world of hidden threats and dangerous alliances, Luca’s dominance wasn’t just about power – it was about survival. And as I stood there, surrounded by the trappings of his empire, I realized I was exactly where I needed to be.

The tenderness in his touch as he traced my jaw surprised me, a stark contrast to his earlier forcefulness. Yet his eyes remained intense, already planning our next moves in this elaborate game of power and control. Together, we would be a force to reckon with – his strength and my intelligence combining into something formidable.

My transformation from independent woman to mafia wife should have felt like a cage. Instead, with Luca’s hand steady on my back and my mind already analyzing potential alliances, it felt like stepping into my true potential. The dangerous glint in his eye promised both protection and possession, and I found myself embracing both.
